Mission Hills Park

Mission Hills Park was interisting. Of the four parks in the City of Henderson that you can fly a drone, it is the only one that is NOT in controlled airspace and therefore does NOT require a LAANC approval. However, it is the only one of the four approved parks that produces the following dji NO-FLY ZONE message. Let's find out why.

We can see from AIRMAP (mapbox) that we are clearlly outside of the controlled airspace and BE4UFLY gives us a "Clear for Takeoff" so it looks like we are ready to power on the drone and controller and get airborn, but not so fast...

The City of Henderson has a 500 foot buffer zone around schools and we happen to be across the street from J Marlan Walker Elementary School. This buffer zone can be seen on the Airhub app but does not show up on the other LAANC apps that I've tried.
